Deception Pass Star Party 2009 - Aug. 14-16: We are done with our usual monthly meetings for summer break. We operate our club on kind of a "school year" schedule, so we take a break from regular meetings June-August.
We still have summer events though. Unless something comes up before August, our next event is our yearly Deception Pass star party at Bowman Bay. August 14-16 for two nights of stargazing and playing on the beach, hiking, boating, or just slacking off in the sun. We have an "Introduction to Astronomy" lecture at sunset on Friday and Saturday nights, followed by telescope viewings all night, weather permitting.
Camping is free for astronomers who join us with telescopes or a bit of knowledge to share. Just tell the park that you are with the astronomy group, and we'll camp at the south end of the park near the dock. If you plan to attend, or have questions, please send an Email.
